Constantin's spiralling is an absolutely amazing beginning of the end in my opinion. Making tough decisions really made the game have an impact and gave my actions real consequences (not killing the crazy doctor led to a very cool mission and a very positive portion of the ending). I am definitely glad I was sure to befriend all of my companions, Kurt bursting in to the palace was a surprise and his loyalty made me glad to have played the way I had and led to a very difficult fight in the streets of New Serene (I may have ducked in and out of combat since the guards were a lot stronger than me lol). It encouraged me to think critically in areas such as technology, progress, religion and politics. My companions' side quests (mostly, sorry Petra) made me care about the stories behind the people along with me on my journey, and the slowly revealing history of the island that was unveiled during the side missions made it feel like I was learning about a country with its own culture, mythology and history as I would in real life. Every side quest gave me a chance to be the character I wanted to be and my character had developed as, and every NPC felt like a part of my story (finest forge in Teer Fradee? Wouldn't mind a source on that). It forged my Sir De Sardet into a character with a strong moral compass, compassion for his friends, justice without cruelty and a deep respect for the history and spirit of the island. Heading to Teer Fradee left me amazed with the city of New Serene, and the contrasts between the 'civilised' cities and natives provoked very interesting thoughts on the very definition of civilisation. I was sure to try to do as much as possible and explore Serene to its fullest. Instead, I was immediately compelled by the introduction to some of the characters and factions in Serene. Greedfall was very much the first real RPG I played, and I installed it expecting to have a bit of fun and maybe lay it to rest. It's heartwarming to see that there is still a very much active and loyal community and seeing everyone else's experience, so I thought I would share mine.
